7.1 Billion Euro allocated for rural development - November 9th, 2006
In the first seven years of its EU membership (2007-2013) the Romanian Government has allocated 7.1 billion from the European
Agricultural Fund for Rural Development (EAFRD) to strengthen the agricultural sector.
The money will be spent in accordance with the priorities outlined in the National Rural Development Plan (which still needs
to be approved by the EU) and focus on improving agricultural efficiency and development of village infrastructure.
