The Agricultural Production Increased with 2.4% in 2006 - July 06 th, 2007
The agriculture production was 2.45% larger in 2007, compared to the first six months of 2006, reaching 50.46 million lei (1 leu = 3.1 euros), the National Statistics Institute informs. The vegetables production grew some 2.2%, up to 31.32 million lei, while the animals stock provided 18.84 lei.
Regarding agricultural services, these have registered the highest increase of 7%, reaching 474,000 lei.
According to the National Statistics Institute, the structure of the production had no major changes. The vegetables production is still dominant (61.9%), followed by animals stock production (37.2%).
Regarding the main groups of cultures the increase in 2006 compared to 2005 is the following: for potatoes cultures and forage plants 4.8%, respectively 1.1%, while for grains it has decreased with 6.7% and for fruits and vegetables with 1%.
