Few applications for European subsidies for agriculture - May 17th, 2008
The number of applications for European subsidies of the Romanian farmers decreased in 2008 compared to 2007. The regional offices of The Payment Agency registered approximately 1,050,000 applications for subsidies, 200.000 less than last year.
The amount a farmer is to receive from EU is 60 euros per hectare, but the intention is to raise the amount up to 130 euros per hectare until 2013, an amount closer to the one granted in old EU-member states.
